Planning Department

Since 2002, the Fulton County Planning Board, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Planning Board, has offered training to local government officials at SUNY Fulton-Montgomery. On rare occasions, the Fulton County Planning Board will offer stand-alone trainings on items that pertain to the county, such as the Adirondack Park Agency and the Hudson River Black River Regulating District. These trainings are geared for Zoning Board of Appeals Members, Planning Board Members, Municipal Officials, and Code Enforcement Officers. A minimum of four (4) hours per year of educational training is required for all members who sit on a Planning Board or Zoning Board of Appeals.

Previous speakers have included the NYS Department of State Division of Local Government Services, the Adirondack Park Agency, NYSERDA Department of Clean Energy Siting, NYS Department of State Office of Planning, Development, and Community Infrastructure, and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Bureau of Ecosystem Health.
