JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CLERK, BOARD OF ELECTIONS

Elections Clerk , via appointment

 This is a 35 hr per week full time position. Employees work a weekly schedule of 8:30am to 4:30 pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch. Overtime usually only occurs on Election days, when all staff must remain on site from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. (approximately)

Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance

Summer hours are 8:30am-3:30 pm, July 1 through Labor Day. You work 30 hours but are paid for 35 hours

Job description includes, but is not limited to:

Provide administrative support to the Elections Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner in the execution of statutory duties associated with elections

 This position is primarily responsible for both telephone and face to face customer service, assisting the general public with election related questions; data entry involving voter registration, absentee voting, electronic scanning of virtually all documents, packing and unpacking election supply bags, and a variety of general office duties

Candidate must be self-motivated, extremely detail oriented, cooperative, and able to follow directions.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Experience performing office, secretarial or clerical work

Working knowledge of a personal computer; Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Ability to read and write in cursive
